Sorry for the quiet moments, but we’ve been ultra busy. We’re currently putting the finishing touches on a new original album, and soon it will be sent off for a huge pressing along with the Ninja Gaiden 2 EP (just in time for the tour!). BLOODLINK RECORDS and STICKFIGURE DISTRO are amazing for making this possible, and getting both in stores nationwide this spring. The winter US tour with THE EVOLUTION CONTROL COMMITTEE is coming together nicely, dates will be posted around mid december!

MACROCK Festival is coming up, and we’ve been given an amazing spot… saturday night! Washington DC show was decent, special thanks to our friends SENTAI, who allowed us to blow up their PA system (literally). And then extra bonus appreciation to everyone who has been mailordering in light of our recent money and tourvan problems… keep them coming, we’re almost 3/500th out of general debt!

Check out the reviews page for some new kind words about us live at MACROCK and our new album. Things have been really picking up, after a grim financial situation in late winter. Very special thanks to all the mailorders that keep coming in (and The Shizz community), and Scott from our label BLOODLINK RECORDS in moving past those tough times. Our 2nd original album HEART OF SAWDUST is available for sale at last, and a semi-official CD RELEASE SHOW is slated for May 1st @ The First Unitarian Church with MC CHRIS (the musician for Adult Swim). This show is literally almost sold out (500 capacity space), might be a good idea to preorder tickets via www.r5productions.com !!!

CHROMELODEON

WHO IS THE _____?
Hailing from the Philadelphia area, they are known collectively as Chromelodeon. Comprised of 8 bizarre members, their instrumentation ranges from the standard rhythm section to violin, accordion, and synthesizers, all completed with a light show and visual effects. Described best as a cross between Godspeed You Black Emperor and Mr. Bungle in a video game music writing war, this group of shadowy figures have found their epic scores to be well received by diverse crowds. Their intense and chaotic performances transform shows into personal soundtracks for the audience, demanding mental participation, imagination, or the attention of personal emotion.

Existing for over two years, they are now represented by BLOODLINK RECORDS, SOLID PR PUBLICITY, and STICK FIGURE DISTRIBUTION. They have played several sold out Knitting Factory NYC shows, and have been on two national tours. They have played consistently with some of the most recognized video-game inspired groups existing today, along with other large ones at numerous events.

WHAT DID ____ DO?
Two national tours, 3 releases, several sold out Knitting Factory NYC shows, with appearances at national festivals such at MACROCK and CMJ.

WITH WHOM DID _____?
The Bouncing Souls, Wesley Willis, Bling Kong, Need New Body, Evolution Control Committee, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Skeleton Key, and MC Chris are some of the other groups we’ve worked with.
This summer 2005 brings a 3rd national tour, to promote the official release and distribution of two new albums….

PRESS

“…It’s a booming battering ram of disparate riffs, epic synth atmosphere and every-instrument insanity. In other words, you’ve never heard anyone rock an accordion this hard…”

-Doug Wallen
Philadelphia Weekly
Dec 22-28, 2004

“Hailing from Philadelphia, this crazed collective fuses together metallic guitar action, howling synths, grinding accordion and circular motifs to fashion a bold, catchy, proggy instrumental mélange that I think can best be described as “spaceship rock.” Genuinely impressive – they had my attention from “hello” to “goodnight.”

-Rupert Bottenberg
Montreal Mirror
October 2004
Vol. 20 No. 18

“Memories of sitting at home in the basement for hours playing Mega Man and Zelda come rushing back after hearing these songs…. this explanation is pointless, because to understand how cool this is, you have to hear it. This is highly recommended.”

-Tim Kuehl
Punk Planet

Issue #60

“Truth is, this is pure gold. Chromelodeon is an instrumental powerhouse (with some minimal vocals) that creates epic tracks from rock and new wave roots… This is truly an example of a book that should not be judged by its cover. I consider myself schooled.”

Things are going nuts in preparation for our 3rd US tour… we leave in 3 days! We’ve got new material, new visuals, and new car troubles. Thanks to everyone who came out to our local shows in the last month. In the meantime, check out another review we got in the Philadelphia Weekly here, along with a decent electronic compilation album we’re on for sale here.

Welcome to our shiny new page, part of the shiny new life of our band. This past summer has really pushed us into some sort of new level we’ve been waiting for, for some time now. We’re taking August off to replace our drummer (except for LOCKSTOCK FEST!). Check back before the end of the month for our fall tour schedule, which is already filling up…..and enjoy the new page!

The last month of shows finished off perfect with the triumphant return of “Spicy” Mike… our old drummer (tourmate for winter 2004-5, and featured on our NGII and Heart of Sawdust recordings)! Having paid his debt to society, he’s back in full effect. We’re spending much of this fall in our studio recording a variety of new album demos, in addition to some secret tracks tba! Keep an eye out as winter approaches for these, and the Nov. 8th national press release of Heart of Sawdust…

We’re starting to feel the early ripples of our national press release. Check out the following for us in the recent Philly Weekly “Best Indie Bands of 2005” feature. Dozens more are being processed, and will be released throughout the winter. We’ve been working hard in the studio on originals and video game material, and are starting to formulate our new “visuals collective”. Be sure to check out our two special home-city shows this weekend (one being all video game music insanity).

At long last, our new album has been released! SPRITE SLOWDOWN represents the other side of Chromelodeon… our video game side project, specifically. Ryan and Dino have personally recorded the project from start to finish, and we’re taking the album and live material to our favorite national video game convention this weekend in VA…MAGFEST! Otherwise, our cd release show is next week, with more shows following soon. Thanks to all for your patience. Check out some preview tracks, as well as an online feature.

Things have somehow become incredibly busy for us, in the best of ways possible. We’re juggling talks with a couple labels, preparing new material, finalizing our 4th US tour, and slated as a special guest at this year’s A-KON (one of the country’s biggest annual anime convention). We also received some great interviews and reviews in national press lately (Amplifier Magazine & Punk Planet), and updated some mailorder info and a new press-release in the contact area. Take a look!

TIME FOR OUR 4th US TOUR! Keep an eye on the shows page for updated info. Keep checking our reviews for mention in both of Philadelphia’s major newspapers. Many thanks to fan and anime scholar Chris Berdoz for crafting our new image, as you have witnessed on our splash page. Free posters of such will be available at all tour stops. You can follow us on the road on our regular tourjournal at: http://www.livejournal.com/users/chromelodeon

This tour has been going amazing thus far! Even when the shows haven’t been incredible, we’re getting just enough support from everyone to keep going. Check the shows for a last minute tour addition for this friday in Chicago! As always, our tour journal has more info on our daily goings-ons….

We are home from tour! This time around, either luck or hard work paid off, because it was the best to date. So many thanks to our friends and fans cross-country. Catch up with more details and incoming pictures at our tourjournal: http://www.livejournal.com/users/chromelodeon

After a handful of shows and temperatures too hot to practice in, we’re about ready to wrap up summer with a few big video game themed events in the end of August. Check out the shows page. Also be sure to check us out on Drexel radio tomorrow night. They stream live online, so catch us either way you can.
